The Nourished Epicurean_Pear-Mint Smoothie
This smoothie is a yummy mix of spinach, apple, pear, healthy fat (almond milk or flax milk, soaked almonds, avocado) and some protein (soaked almonds).
Fresh mint leaves give this smoothie extra spark. Mint is also a good source of vitamin A—needed for healthy skin. Not only is this smoothie delicious, it can help with digestion and get things moving! Which is what you want: the more toxins you remove from your body, the clearer your skin.
Be sure to soak the almonds in filtered water for at least 4 hours, which makes them much easier to digest. And keep the skin on the fruit—the peel contains bioflavonoids and fiber, which are chockfull of micronutrients.
Pear-Green Smoothie

2 cups cup fresh organic baby spinach
3/4 cup organic unsweetened almond or unsweetened flax milk
1/2 cup chopped pear (keep peel on!)
1/2 cup chopped organic apple (keep peel on!)
1/4 avocado
1/4 cup raw almonds, soaked in filtered water for 4 hours or overnight
1 teaspoon fresh-squeezed lemon juice
7 mint leaves
1/4 to 1/2 cup mineral water, like Pellegrino, OR ice made from filtered water
Place all ingredients in a high-powered blender or Nutribullet and blend well.
